Supervisor Bradford called the Regular Meeting of the Columbia Township Board to order. Present were Bradford, Burgett, Fogarty, Hurley, and Harrington. In attendance were 13 citizens.

Consent Agenda: Regular Meeting Minutes-February 19, 2008; Special Meeting Minutes- March 10, 2008; Planning Commission Meeting Minutes-February 18, 2008; bills through March 11, 2008; Treasurer’s Report. Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve the Consent Agenda. Carried unanimously. Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty to amend the motion by omitting the Planning Commission meeting minutes. Carried unanimously.

Public Comment: M. Gibson-Thanked Board for all they have done.

L. Miller-Had questions about Zoning Ordinance

Additions/Corrections to Agenda: None

Supervisor: Attended the County Planning Commission meeting in regards to the new zoning ordinance revisions. They recommended that the Home Occupations Class II be removed until the Master Plan supports it.

Assessor: None

Fire Chief: 2 calls received in February: 1 chimney fire & 1 fire alarm cancelled enroute. Average response time was 5.00 minutes.

Sheriff: 55 complaints received in February: 2 abandoned vehicle, 7 accidents, 4 alarm activation, 1 animal at large, 6 assault, 1 ATT pickup, 3 be on the look out, 2 breaking & entering, 1 fraudulent activity, 17 general assistance, 3 larceny, 1 obstructing justice, 1 open intoxicant, 1 public peace, 1 traffic violation.

State Police: No Report.

County Commissioner: 5 road commissioners approved. North Lake will be doing weed control.

Planning Commission: A Professional Planner will be at the meeting on March 17, 2008.

Neighborhood Watch: Next meeting-April 3, 2008-7:30 pm. 313 members.

Hospital: No Report.

South Haven Senior Services: Every Tuesday there is Senior bowling at Lakeside from 2-4 pm.

Recreation/Cemetery: No Report.

Zoning Administrator: 3 Zoning Compliances issued in February: 1 shingles/siding; 1 breezeway; 1 addition.

Blight Officer: No Report.

Correspondence: A certified letter from Ken Speicher.

Discussion: Bradford will be checking on putting the zoning ordinance online.

New Business: 1. Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve Resolution 2008-06-Banking Resolutions. Roll call vote: Bradford aye, Burgett aye, Fogarty aye, Hurley aye, Harrington aye. Carried unanimously. 2. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to approve Resolution 2008-08-Budget Adoption. Roll call vote: Bradford aye, Burgett aye, Fogarty aye, Hurley aye, Harrington aye. Carried unanimously. 3. Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve Resolution 2008-07-Budget Amendment. Roll call vote: Bradford aye, Burgett aye, Fogarty aye, Hurley aye, Harrington aye. Carried unanimously. 4. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to approve Resolution 2008-09-Pay Certain Monthly Expense to Avoid Penalties. Roll call vote: Bradford aye, Burgett aye, Fogarty aye, Hurley aye, Harrington aye. Carried unanimously. 5. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to approve Resolution 2008-10-Fire/Ambulance Levy. Motion by Burgett, second by Bradford, to approve Resolution 2008-11-2008-2009 Meeting Schedule. Roll call vote: Bradford aye, Burgett aye, Fogarty aye, Hurley aye, Harrington aye. Carried unanimously.

Motion by Burgett, second by Bradford, to approve Resolution 2008-12-Setting Salaries and Hourly Wages for 2008-2009. Roll call vote: Bradford aye, Burgett aye, Fogarty aye, Hurley aye, Harrington aye. Carried unanimously.

Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to set a Special Meeting for March 31 at 4pm. Carried unanimously.

Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to pay $1000 trade in for a new Lawn Tractor. Carried unanimously.

Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to reimburse Dale Bloom up to $500 for trees along 52-1/2 St. Carried unanimously.

Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to be open all day on the first Sunday of every Month, starting June 1. Carried unanimously.

Motion by Bradford, second by Hurley, to send Streeter & Goodwin to the FDIC Conference, not to exceed $1500. Carried unanimously.

Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve Pro Finish Custom Carpentry to put wainscoting in the foyer, not to exceed $1245. Carried unanimously.

Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to pay the Board of Review $15 per hour for 2008. Carried unanimously.

Public Comment: M. Gibson-The firefighters would like to help clean up the cemeteries.

H. Braunz-The township needs a picture of all the firefighters.

j. Huzienga-read a flyer printed by a resident who had a theft.

D. Curtis-could a cork board be put on the wall in the foyer.

J. Lemmer-Home Occupations II has been removed from the zoning ordinance revisions.

B. Bower-asked the board to rescind the foia request to Mental Health.

S. Kalosky-don’t rescind the foia request. Legal fees should be paid by Linda Miller.

Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to adjourn. Carried unanimously.
