Supervisor Bradford called the Regular Meeting of the Columbia Township Board to order. Present were Bradford, Burgett, Hurley, Harrington, and Fogarty absent. In attendance were 44 citizens.

Clerk: Bills paid after the Consent Agenda. $84.92 to Danielle Nuismer, secretary. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to approve the bills paid after the consent agenda. Carried.

Fire Chief: 6 calls received in September: 2 accidents, 1 controlled burn, 1 flood assessment, 1 fire alarm activation, and 1 mutual aid. Average response time was 7.00 minutes.

Sheriff: 68 complaints received in September: 1 abandoned vehicle, 4 accidents, 4 alarm activation, 1 arson, 2 assault, 9 be on the look out, 1 breaking & entering, 2 delinquent minor 4 flee/allude, 2 fraudulent activity, 14 general assistance, 6 health & safety, 1 larceny, 1 lost/found property, 1 MDOP, 1 missing person, 2 obstructing justice, 7 public peace, 1 stolen vehicle, 3 suspicious situation, 1 traffic violation.

State Police: None

County Commissioner: Plat Books & Lake Maps are on sale at the County

Planning Commission: Review of the Master Plan with Patrick Hudson.

Neighborhood Watch: Donations re needed for the trick or trunk October of 31st.

Hospital: None.

South Haven Senior Services: Van Buren Transit tokens are available for free at the township hall.

Recreation/Cemetery: No Report.

Zoning Administrator: 6 Zoning Compliances issued in September: 3 pole barns, 2 new roof, 1 addition, and 1 reroof.

Blight Officer: None.

Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to approve Resolution 2008-22-Creation of a special assessment district for the eradication or control of aquatic weeds and plants for Saddle Lake. Roll Call Vote, Bradford aye, Burgett aye, Fogarty absent, Hurley aye, Harrington aye. 2. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to approve Resolution 2008-21-Budget Amendment. Roll Call Vote, Bradford aye, Burgett aye, Fogarty absent, Hurley aye, Harrington aye. Carried. 3. Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to accept the resignation of Linda Seaman from the Zoning Board of Appeals. Carried . 4. Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to appoint Julie Zecklin to the Zoning Board of Appeals. Carried.

Public Comment: R. Hurley-The sheriff crew cleaned Grand Junction & Thompson Cemetery. L. Miller-Dale Bradford appointed a friend to the ZBA. K. Speicher-Why did Linda Seaman resign? M. Arens-volunteers are needed for the trick or trunk on the 31st. Cooley-Burgett has choices to make.
