Supervisor Bradford called the Regular Meeting of the Columbia Township Board to order. Present were Bradford, Burgett, Nuismer, Hurley, and Harrington. In attendance were 28 citizens.

Consent Agenda: Regular Meeting Minutes-February 17, 2009; Special Meeting Minutes- None; Planning Commission Meeting Minutes-February 16, 2009; bills through March 17, 2009; Treasurer’s Report. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to approve the Consent Agenda. Carried unanimously.
Clerk Bills paid after the Consent Agenda. Ink & More-$28; Back Roads-$477.57; Ruth Cripps-$80 Motion by Burgett, second by Nuismer, to approve the bills paid after the consent agenda. Carried unanimously.
Guest Speaker: None
Public Comment: H. Johnson-Assessor made unprofessional comments at the Board of Review. Wood burners should not be assessed.
Announcements: None
Additions/Corrections to Agenda: Motion by Burgett, second by Bradford to add Trade in Mower as #14 New Business. Carried unanimously. Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to add repair of bleachers as #15 New Business. Carried unanimously.
Supervisor: Attended a water law seminar.
Assessor: 20 owners appealed at the Board of Review. Property values vary in different areas.
Fire Chief: 7 calls received in February: 2 mutual aid for structure fires; 2 assists to CEMS; 1 field fire; 1 possible illegal burning; 1 cancelled. Average response time was 6.29 minutes.
Sheriff: 90 complaints received in February: 4 abandoned vehicle, 7 accidents, 8 alarm activation, 19 assault, 6 be on the look out, 2 breaking & entering, 1 criminal sexual conduct; 1 fraudulent activity, 16 general assistance, 9 health & safety, 2 invasion of privacy, 2 larceny, 1 MDOP, 1 under the influence of liquor, 4 public peace, 1 shoplifting, 1 stolen vehicle, 4 suspicious situation, 1 traffic violation.
State Police: No Report.
County Commissioner: No Report.
Planning Commission: Farmland Preservation information was presented at the last meeting.
Neighborhood Watch: Fireworks can only be used on the 4th of July. Boat rules are going to be enforced.
Hospital: Volunteers are needed; Book Fair on March 25th; Fast, Cheap and Healthy class on March 16th.; Your Health Matters class on March 19th.; Cooking for a Healthy Heart class on March 26th.
South Haven Senior Services: No Report.
Recreation/Cemetery: No Report.
Zoning Administrator: 5 Zoning Compliances in February: 1 Church; 1 Remodel/Addition; 1 Addition; 2 Pole barns.
Blight Officer: No Report.
Announcements: Chip Ray-it is difficult to maintain roads because of funding. Projects to be done ASAP: 16th drive tube washed out & 49th tube washed out.
Correspondence: A lawsuit filed by Ken Speicher against Columbia Township.
Old Business: Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to table the CR 380 Property. Carried unanimously.
11. Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to be open Tuesdays. Carried Unanimously.
