Supervisor Bradford called the Regular Meeting of the Columbia Township Board to order. Present were Bradford, Burgett, Nuismer, Harrington, Hurley absent. In attendance were 28 citizens.

Consent Agenda: Regular Meeting Minutes-January 20, 2009; Special Meeting Minutes- None; Planning Commission Meeting Minutes-January 19, 2009; bills through February 17, 2009; Treasurer’s Report. Motion by Burgett, second by Nuismer, to approve the Consent Agenda. Carried.

Clerk: Bills paid after the Consent Agenda. Chuck Moore-$3,801.60; Pontem-$260.00; Office Depot-$1448.58. Motion by Burgett, second by Nuismer, to approve the bills paid after the consent agenda. Carried.

Assessor: None

Fire Chief: 5 calls received in January: 1 structure fire; 1 vehicle accident; 1 trash fire; 2 lift assist to CEMS. Average response time was 6.00 minutes.

Sheriff: 45 complaints received in January: 14 assault; 2 harassing nuisance; 1 larceny’ 1 MDOP; 3 obstructing justice; 5 health & safety’ 1 invasion of privacy’ 4 accident; 2 suspicious situation; 11 general assists; 2 be on the look out.

State Police: No Report.

County Commissioner: $1.50 for 911 will be on the ballot in May.

Planning Commission: Public Hearing for the re-zoning of some properties in Grand Junction; Reviewed the first draft of the Master Plan; The site plan for the Church in Grand Junction was approved before construction started.

Neighborhood Watch: Next meeting-March 5, 2009-7:30 pm. No B & E last month, crime rate is down.

Hospital: Cholesterol screening February 10-14. Volunteers are needed. Weeknight Pasta Dishes-February 24th; Oats do more-February 21st.

South Haven Senior Services: March 12th, free tax preparation for seniors. Call for Appointment.

Recreation/Cemetery: No Report.

Zoning Administrator: No Report.

Blight Officer: No Report.

Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett to take a 5 minute break.

Old Business: None

New Business: 1. Motion by Burgett, second by Bradford, to hire the secretary permanently for $10 per hour. Carried. 2. Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to appoint Jim Wellington as alternate to the Board of Review. Carried. 3. Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to pursue court action against the people living in campers on CR 380. Motion by Harrington, second by Bradford, to table until next month. Carried. 4. Motion by Burgett, second by Nuismer, to purchase a second license for the Pontem Tax Program. Carried. 5. Motion by Burgett, second by Bradford, to approve Resolution 2009-03-N’Lake Special Assessment. Roll call vote: Bradford aye, Burgett aye, Nuismer aye, Hurley absent, Harrington nay. Carried. 6. Motion by Burgett, second by Nuismer, to approve Resolution 2009-04 Budget Amendment. Roll call vote: Bradford aye, Burgett aye, Nuismer aye, Hurley absent, Harrington aye. Carried.
