Supervisor Bradford called the Regular Meeting of the Columbia Township Board to order. Present were Bradford, Burgett, Nuismer, Hurley, and Harrington. In attendance were 16 citizens.

Assessor: Assessment notices should be mailed by February 15, 2009.

Fire Chief: 7 calls received in December: 4 vehicle accidents; 1 co detector activation; 1 fire alarm activation; 1 standby. Average response time was 6.71 minutes.

Sheriff: 48 complaints received in December: 2 abandoned vehicle, 7 accidents, 3 alarm activation, 5 assault, 3 be on the look out, 1 civil/property disputes, 10 general assistance, 6 health & safety, 1 invasion of privacy, 3 larceny, 2 obstructing justice, 2 suspicious situation, 1 traffic stop, 1 traffic violation, 1 vehicle inspection.

State Police: No Report.

County Commissioner: The phosphate ban is complete.

Planning Commission: No Report.

Neighborhood Watch: No B & E in Columbia Township for December & January.

Hospital: Smoking Cessation-Thursday’s 4-5pm

South Haven Senior Services: Fund Raiser-February 1 from 10am to 2pm

Recreation/Cemetery: No Report.

Old Business: Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to approve Resolution 2009-2-Creation of a Special Assessment District for the Eradication or Control of Aquatic Weeds and Plants for North Lake. Roll call vote: Bradford aye, Burgett aye, Nuismer aye, Hurley aye, Harrington aye. Carried unanimously.

Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to drop the AA meeting at the hall. Carried unanimously.

New Business: 1. Motion by Burgett, second by Bradford, to approve the increase of $1,738 for increasing the liability limit to $5,000,000 and increasing the property deductible to $1000. Carried unanimously. 2. Motion by Burgett, second by Nuismer, to approve purchase of file cabinets not to exceed $1100. Carried unanimously. 3. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to designate $500 for the Household Hazardous Waste program. Carried unanimously. 4. Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to approve Policy 2009-01 Delinquent Accounts. Carried unanimously. 5. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to approve Resolution 2009-01 Budget Amendment. Roll call vote: Bradford aye, Burgett aye, Fogarty aye, Hurley aye, Harrington aye. Carried unanimously.
