Supervisor Bradford called the Regular Meeting of the Columbia Township Board to order. Present were Bradford, Burgett, Fogarty, and Harrington, Hurley absent. In attendance were 12 citizens.

Consent Agenda: Regular Meeting Minutes-January 17, 2008; Special Meeting Minutes-None; Planning Commission Meeting Minutes-January 21, 2008; bills through February 19, 2008; Treasurer’s Report. Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve the Consent Agenda. Carried.

Additions/Corrections to Agenda: Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to add Budget Amendment to New Business #5. Carried.

Supervisor: Read Response to Columbia Township Taxpayers Asso Bill of Particulars.

Assessor: No Report.

Fire Chief: 11 calls received in January: 2 structure fires, 3 mutual aid assists, 1 pellet stove fire, 2 assistance to Coloma Ambulance, 1 arcing power line, and 1 cancelled. Average response time was 6.36 minutes.

Sheriff: 69 complaints received in January. Deputy Todd Oliver fell and broke his wrist & eye socket.

State Police: None.

County Commissioner: February 26 at 5:30, the Board of Commissioners will vote on 5 road commissioners instead of 3.

Planning Commission: The revised Zoning Ordinance was recommended to the Board for approval.

Neighborhood Watch: Next meeting-March 6, 2008-7:30 pm. Neighborhood Watch has been using snow mobiles to patrol the houses around the lakes.

Hospital: Heart to Heart Cholesterol screening, Cancer care, and Diabetes Support, will be held this month. Med Folio will provide an easy way to carry your medical information to each health care provider. Several volunteer positions are available at the hospital.

South Haven Senior Services: No Report.

Recreation/Cemetery: No Report.

Zoning Administrator: 2 Zoning Compliances issued in January: 1 pole barn and 1 addition.

Blight Officer: No Report.

Correspondence: None

Larry Hummel from the VB County Road Commission: The signs will be upgraded at the intersection of 51.5 & 8th Av. Mailboxes will be relocated. Rumble strips would be very noisy.

Old Business: None

New Business: 1. Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to have the Transfer Station open for ½ day the first Sunday of the month and closed the Saturday before. Carried. 2. Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to approve the following road work. 18th Av. from the Breedsville limits East to 51.5 St. 52.5 St. from CR 380 North to 18th Av. 56th St. from CR 384 North to 8th Av. Carried.

Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to change the March 18 meeting date to March 11. Carried.

Motion by Burgett, second by Bradford, to approve Resolution 2008-03, Consumers Energy Street Light Resolution. Roll call vote, Bradford aye, Burgett aye, Fogarty aye, Harrington aye. Carried.

Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve Resolution 2008-04, Budget Amendment. Roll call vote. Bradford aye, Burgett aye, Fogarty aye, Harrington aye. Carried.
