Supervisor Bradford called the Regular Meeting of the Columbia Township Board to order. Present were Bradford, Burgett, Fogarty, Hurley, and Harrington. In attendance were 13 citizens.

Consent Agenda: Regular Meeting Minutes-November 18, 2008; Special Meeting Minutes- None; Planning Commission Meeting Minutes-None; bills through December 16, 2008; Treasurer’s Report. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to approve the Consent Agenda. Carried unanimously.

Additions/Corrections to Agenda: Motion by Fogarty, second by Burgett to add Fogarty resignation to New Business #13. Carried unanimously.

Fire Chief: 9 calls received in November: 1 structure fire, 1 mutual aid to Bangor, 2 move up stand by, 1 CO activation, 2 outside fires, 2 medical assist, 1 vehicle accident.. Average response time was 7.67 minutes.

Sheriff: No Report.

State Police: No Report.

County Commissioner: No Report.

Planning Commission: Last Meeting-Review of the watershed text, home business recommendations, church site plan approved.

Neighborhood Watch: John read the police report.

Hospital: No Report.

South Haven Senior Services: No Report.

Recreation/Cemetery: No Report.

Zoning Administrator: 1 Zoning Compliance issued in November: 1 home/pole barn.

Blight Officer: No Report

Correspondence: Email from R.Flammang about 8/51.5 street light.

Old Business: None

New Business: 1. Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to be closed from December 21, 2008 through January 5, 2008. Open December 30, 2008 to accept taxes. Carried unanimously. 2. Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to be closed Tuesday every week. Carried unanimously. 3. Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to increase the credit card limit to $1,500. Carried unanimously. 4. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to table the public hearing for North Lake Special Assessment. Carried unanimously. 5. Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to table the use of the hall for Alcoholics Anonymous until they present a proposal. Carried unanimously. 6. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to accept the proposal from Ink & More for $5000 for a new server. Carried Unaninmously. 7. Motion by Bradford, second by Hurley, to reappoint Mary Burgett Zoning Administrator. Carried Unanimously. 8. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to reappoint Bowen & Zecklin to the Zoning Board of Appeals for a term ending December 31, 2011. Carried Unanimously. 9. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to reappoint Lemmer & Seaman to the Planning Commission for a term ending December 31, 2011. Carried Unanimously. 10. Motion by Burgett, second by Bradford, to reappoint Hurley to the Planning Commission for a term ending December 31, 2009. Carried unanimously. 11. Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to reappoint Hodgman, Beckwith, & Pumfrey to the Board of Review, for a term ending December 31, 2010. Carried unanimously. 12. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to set Budget Workshop dates of January 19 & 23, 2009 at 4:00 pm. Carried unanimously. 13. Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to accept with regret the resignation of Mary Fogarty as Treasurer, effective December 31, 2008. Carried unanimously.

Public Comment: D.Beckwith-Mary Fogarty has been honest and dedicated to Columbia Township. Thank You from all the public. Cooley-The Reminder ads should stop. The money should be put to better use like toys for tots, etc.
