Supervisor Bradford called the Regular Meeting of the Columbia Township Board to order. Present were Bradford, Burgett, Fogarty, Hurley, and Harrington was late. In attendance were 21 citizens.

Consent Agenda: Regular Meeting Minutes-November 13, 2007; Special Meeting Minutes- None; Planning Commission Meeting Minutes-November 12, 2007; bills through December 18, 2007; Treasurer’s Report. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to approve the Consent Agenda. Carried.

Clerk: Bills paid after the Consent Agenda. Chuck Moore-Building Inspector-$1,021.07 Herb Murphy-Plow Transfer Station-$35.00 Mary Burgett-Supplies-$14.77 Ruth Cripps-Clean Hall-$225.00 Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve the bills paid after the consent agenda. Carried.

Guest Speaker: None

Public Comment: L. Miller & R. Flammang-Had concerns about the FOIA request to Van Buren County Mental Health and street lights; F. Grubisich-had a concern about a letter sent to the Gun Board and the Secretary of State.

Additions/Corrections to Agenda: None

Supervisor: No Report

Assessor: Call 269-353-9193 during the Holidays.

Fire Chief: 9 calls received in November: 1 car fire, 1 mutual aid, 1 auto accident, 1 search for a lost person; 1 smoke investigation; 1 transformer fire; 1 lift assist with CEMS; 1 cancelled, 1 structure fire. Average response time was 5.00 minutes.

Sheriff: Deputy Ron Douglas gave his last report. Deputy Todd Oliver will be taking over the policing of the township.

State Police: No report.

County Commissioner: The 911 dispatch was approved.

Planning Commission: The final changes to the revised Zoning Ordinance have been completed.

Neighborhood Watch: Watch, Observe, and Report. Street lights are a safety factor.

Hospital: The Shoreline Wellness and Rehabilitation Center is now open. A Holiday Bake Sale was held December 18, starting at 8am.

South Haven Senior Services: There was a good turn out for Bingo this month.

Recreation/Cemetery: No Report.

Zoning Administrator: Four Zoning Compliances issued in November: 1 pole barn; 1 pole barn addition; 1 garage addition; and 1 roof tear off.

Blight Officer: No report.

Correspondence: None

Old Business: Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett to approve the Senior Dinner Budget of $80 per Potluck, and $485 per special dinner. Carried unanimously.

New Business: 1. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to re-appoint Jim Sykora to the Zoning Board of Appeals. Carried unanimously. 2. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to re-appoint Tom Fry to the Planning Commission. Carried unanimously. 3. Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to re-appoint Rosemary Hurley to the Planning Commission Carried unanimously. 4. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to approve purchase of the Konica Minolta 350 copier from Ink and More at a cost of $5850. Carried unanimously.
