Supervisor Bradford called the Regular Meeting of the Columbia Township Board to order. Present were Bradford, Burgett, Fogarty, Hurley, and Harrington. In attendance were 22 citizens.

Consent Agenda: Regular Meeting Minutes-November 21, 2006; Planning Commission Meeting Minutes-November 20, 2006; bills through November 21, 2006; Treasurer’s Report. Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve the Consent Agenda. Carried unanimously.

Public Comment: M. Arens-89 guests at the Senior Potluck.

Announcements: Marvin Landers passed away. He was a trustee for many years.

Additions/Corrections to Agenda: Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley to add desks from Sheriff Dept. as New Business #7. Carried unanimously.

Supervisor: No Report

Fire Chief: 4 calls received in November: 1 grass/brush fires, 1 trash, 1 false alarm, 1 unauthorized burning. Average response time was 8 minutes.

Sheriff: 108 complaints received in November: 1 abandoned vehicle, 4 accidents, 9 alarm activation, 6 animal at large, 1 arson, 22 assault, 4 be on the look out, 13 breaking & entering, 1 civil/property disputes, 3 criminal sexual conduct; 2 delinquent minor, 1 dog law violation, 4 flee/allude, 8 general assistance, 1 harassing/nuisance, 7 larceny, 1 MDOP, 5 obstructing justice, 3 public peace, 1 stolen vehicle, 9 suspicious situation, 1 traffic violation, 1 VCSA.

State Police: No Report.

County Commissioner: No Report.

Planning Commission: Aaron Fuller, from the Black River Watershed, will be at the February 19, 2007 meeting.

Neighborhood Watch: Keep empty boxes inside until trash day.

Hospital: Hypno-Birthing, Thursday, December 14, 2006. Bake Sale Tuesday, December 12, 2006.

South Haven Senior Services: No Report.

Recreation/Cemetery: No Report.

Zoning Administrator: 5 Zoning Compliances issued in November: 2 remodel, 1 barn addition, 1 house addition, 1 modular.

 

Correspondence: None

Old Business: Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve the Mechanical Fees. Carried unanimously.

New Business:

Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve prep for paving on 56th- 384 to 8th. Carried unanimously.

Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to purchase 4 SCBA’s for $12,400. Carried unanimously.

Motion by Bradford, second by Hurley, to approve yearly salaries as follows: Captain-$800; 2 Lieutenant-$400 each. Carried unanimously.

Motion by Bradford, second by Hurley, to appoint Chris Hodgman, Robert Pumfrey, and Dean Beckwith to the Board of Review until 12/31/08. Carried unanimously.

Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to set budget workshop dates of January 8-9-11-4 pm. Carried unanimously.

6. Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve Resolution 2006-29-Budget Amendment. Roll call vote. Bradford aye, Burgett aye, Fogarty aye, Hurley aye, Harrington aye. Carried unanimously.

7. Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve receipt of desks from the Sheriff Department. Carried unanimously.

Public Comment: J. Grubisich-L. Miller should be on committees.

D. Beckwith-The Board, Fire Chief & Deputy should be commended for their good job.

D. Johnson-Thanks to the board for helping the Fire Department get equipment.
