Supervisor Bradford called the Regular Meeting of the Columbia Township Board to order. Present were Bradford, Burgett, Fogarty, Hurley, and Harrington. In attendance were 24 citizens.

Consent Agenda: Regular Meeting Minutes-July 18, 2006; Planning Commission Meeting Minutes-July 16, 2006; bills through August 15, 2006; Treasurer’s Report. Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve the Consent Agenda. Carried unanimously.

Clerk: Bills paid since the Consent Agenda-Chuck Moore-Building Inspector-$374.35.

Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve the bills paid after the consent agenda. Carried unanimously.

Public Comment: None

Announcements: The Girl Scouts will be using the hall for their meetings one evening a month.

Additions/Corrections to Agenda: Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to add Resolution 2006-19 as item #4 New Business. Carried unanimously.

Supervisor: No Report

Sheriff: 120 complaints received in July: 1 abandoned vehicle, 14 accidents, 10 alarm activation, 11 animal at large, 10 assault, 7 be on the look out, 2 breaking & entering, 3 civil/property disputes, 2 conservation, 2 cruelty to animals, 2 delinquent minor, 1 embezzlement, 1 explosives; 1 fraudulent activity, 19 general assistance, 1 health & safety, 5 invasion of privacy, 7 larceny, 1 lost/found property, 4 MDOP, 1 open intoxicant, 2 public peace, 2 reckless firearm, 1 runaway, 3 stolen vehicle, 4 suspicious situation, 1 traffic violation, 1 VCSA, 1 vehicle inspection.

State Police: Kyle Gorham gave a report of the activity in Columbia Township in July.

County Commissioner: Harold Johnson thanked all who supported during his term in office.

Fire Chief: 9 calls received in July, 5 accidents, 1 car fire, 1 mutual aid, 1 structure, 1 downed wire. Average response time was 6.78 minutes. Max Streeter, Acting Fire Chief, thanked the firefighters for filling in for him after his accident.

Planning Commission: A Special Use Permit for a Campground was approved at the July meeting.

Neighborhood Watch: Neighborhood Watch has received a $1,225 grant for Meth Watch Signs. Ten will be kept in Columbia Township and 15 will be given to the County to distribute.

Hospital: SH Hospital Auxiliary is looking for volunteers. September 13th from 12-5:45 pm there will be a Blood Drive at the Peace Lutheran Church. September 28th at 5 pm at SH Community Hospital there will be CPR classes.

South Haven Senior Services: Thanks to all who voted yes for the Senior Services Millage. The Senior Sentinel will be delivered along with the SH Tribune on the last Sunday of the month. SH Senior Services has received a grant for medical transportation for seniors.

Recreation/Cemetery: No Report.

Zoning Administrator: 5 Zoning Compliances issued in July: 1 deck, 1 single wide, 1 railing & steps, 1 new window installation, 1 chicken coop.

Correspondence: None

Old Business: Motion by Hurley, second by Harrington, to table the Senior Services Millage. Carried unanimously.

New Business:

No land sale bids received.

Motion by Fogarty, second by Burgett, to be closed September 2 through September 4 for Labor Day. Carried unanimously.

3. Motion by Hurley, second by Harrington, to table the appointment of a ZBA member. Carried unanimously.

4. Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve Resolution 2006-19-Allow Expenditures. Roll call vote: Bradford aye, Burgett aye, Fogarty aye, Hurley aye, Harrington nay. Carried.

5. A moment of silence was held for Bryce May.
