Supervisor Bradford called the Regular Meeting of the Columbia Township Board to order. Present were Bradford, Burgett, Fogarty, Hurley, and Harrington. In attendance were 20 citizens.

Consent Agenda: Regular Meeting Minutes-June 20, 2006; Planning Commission Meeting Minutes-May 15, 2006 corrected & June 19, 2006; bills through July 17, 2006; Treasurer’s Report. Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve the Consent Agenda. Carried unanimously.

Guest Speaker: Vita Pike voiced concerns of the seniors of Columbia Township.

Supervisor: A few complaints have been received about the dusty roads.

Sheriff: 98 complaints received in June: 14 accidents, 18 alarm activation, 5 animal at large, 8 assault, 2 ATT pickup, 5 be on the look out, 2 breaking & entering, 1 civil/property disputes, 1 dog law violation, 1 explosives; 3 flee/allude, 1 fraudulent activity, 11 general assistance, hit & run, 5 larceny, 2 MDOP, 1 missing person, 4 obstructing justice, 2 open intoxicant, 2 under the influence of liquor, 1 runaway, 5 suspicious situation, 1 traffic violation, 3 vehicle inspection.

State Police: Kyle Gorham gave a report of the activity in Columbia Township in June.

County Commissioner: No Report.

Fire Chief: 4 calls received in June, 1 medical assist, 1 mutual aid, 1 cancelled en route, 1 unknown fire. Average response time was 3.75 minutes. The Pancake Breakfast was a huge success.

Planning Commission: A Public Hearing is scheduled for Monday August 14 at 6pm to rule on Campground Special Use Permit.

Neighborhood Watch: Sheriff Gribler will be the guest at the next meeting-August 3-7:30 pm. Profit from the Pancake Breakfast was $403.

Hospital: 2005 National Blueberry Festival 5K Run/Walk will be held August 12th. A joint venture with the SH Historical Museum will create a shared parking lot which will create 20 additional parking spaces.

South Haven Senior Services: Everyone is urged to vote yes on the Senior Services Millage August 8th.

Recreation/Cemetery: The Sheriff work crew has been cleaning on Thompson Cemetery.

Zoning Administrator: 6 Zoning Compliances issued in June: 1 re-roof, 1 used mobile, 2 modular’s, 1 remodel, 1 dormer.

Old Business:

1. Motion by Burgett, second by Harrington, to approve Resolution 2006-18-Latchaw Property Trade. Roll call vote: Bradford aye, Burgett aye, Fogarty aye, Hurley aye, Harrington aye. Carried unanimously.

2. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to sell the Berlamont Parcel for a minimum bid of $500. Carried. Harrington NO.

New Business:

Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve a computer for the secretary, not to exceed $350. Carried unanimously.

Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to have the Land Sale Bids due by August 15 at 5pm, and opened at the meeting at 7pm. Carried unanimously.

3. Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to approve the Special Assessment Budget. Carried unanimously.

4. Motion by Fogarty, second by Burgett, to keep .02 of the Senior Millage in house.

Motion by Hurley, second by Burgett, to table until next month. Carried unanimously.

5. Motion by Bradford, second by Burgett, to approve, in the case that the Acting Fire Chief is disabled, temporary replacements will be #1 Ken Goodwin, #2 David Johnson. Carried unanimously.

Public Comment: $13,000 in grant money will be available for seniors medical transportation.

Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to adjourn. Carried unanimously.
