Supervisor Bradford called the Regular Meeting of the Columbia Township Board to order. Present were Bradford, Burgett, Fogarty, Hurley, and Harrington. In attendance were 13 citizens.

Consent Agenda: Regular Meeting Minutes-November 15, 2005; Planning Commission Meeting Minutes-November 8, 1005; bills through December 20, 2005; Treasurer’s Report. Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve the Consent Agenda. Carried unanimously.

Public Comment: M. Arens-Senior night out was a success. 35 attended along with 6 volunteers. January 20, 2006 there will be a potluck and sign along at the township hall at 6pm.

Announcements: None

Additions/Corrections to Agenda: Motion by Burgett, second by Hurley, to add Budget Amendment as Item # 13 New Business. Carried unanimously.

Supervisor: Thank you to the Lemmer’s for decorating the hall for the Christmas Party.

Sheriff: 85 complaints received in November: 1 abandoned vehicle, 8 accidents, 4 alarm activation, 7 animal at large,

1 assault, 1 be on the look out, 2 breaking & entering, 1 conservation,1 cruelty to animals, 1 delinquent minor,1 fire/ems, 21 general assistance, 2 harassing/nuisance, 1 indecent exposure, 1 invasion of privacy, 3 larceny, 3 lost/found property, 1 MDOP, 2 missing person, 8 public peace, 1 recovery stolen vehicle, 2 repossession, 2 runaway, 1 stolen vehicle,

6 suspicious situation, 1 traffic violation, 2 vehicle inspection. Thanks to Farley Gruber for helping to discover a stolen vehicle. Virgil Franks caught an armed robbery suspect.

State Police: Kyle Gorham gave a report of the activity in Columbia Township in November. Don’t open doors to strangers.

County Commissioner: No Report.

Fire Chief: 12 calls received in November: 1 chimney fire, 1 CO detector activation, 1 forest fire, 2 grass/brush fires,

1 move up, 3 mutual aid structure fires, 1 downed wire, 1 unauthorized burning, 1 vehicle fire. Average response time was 5.83 minutes. CTFD has received a 50/50 grant from the DNR to purchase a Compressed air foam system for the grass rig.

Planning Commission: The revising of the Agricultural District of the Zoning Ordinance will be finished up and sent on to the Board at our next meeting.

Neighborhood Watch: Watch for suspicious vehicles or tire tracks where they shouldn’t be.

Book Station: No Report.

Hospital: SHCH has been fully accredited by JCAHO.

South Haven Senior Services: No Report.

Recreation/Cemetery: No Report.

Zoning Administrator: Seven Zoning Compliances issued in November: 1 remodel, 1 deck, 1 enclose deck, 3 migrant housing, 1 addition.

Blight Officer: No Report
