A Special Meeting of the Columbia Township Board was called to order by Supervisor Bradford. Present were Bradford, Burgett, Fogarty, Hurley, Harrington, and 15 citizens.

Motion by Burgett, second by Fogarty to add to the agenda the following:

bulletItem 2 FD Replacement Gear
bulletItem 3 Painting of Hall
bulletItem 4 Foyer Pass Through Window

Carried unanimously.

bulletMotion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve the Public Safety Millage Wording for the November Election. Carried. Harrington No.
bulletMotion by Fogarty, second by Hurley, to discuss the loss of firefighter gear. Carried unanimously.
bulletMotion by Hurley, second by Burgett, to approve the replacement of the turnout gear, pager, and two-way radio that was lost in the car fire. Carried unanimously.
bulletMotion by Harrington, second by Hurley, to amend the motion by adding to check with the insurance companies for reimbursement. Carried unanimously.
bulletMotion by Hurley, second by Fogarty, to have the work crew wash the walls in the Township Building. Carried unanimously.
bulletMotion by Burgett, second by Fogarty, to approve the material for the pass through window in the foyer, not to exceed $400, labor to be donated by Dan Burgett. Carried. Harrington No.
bulletMotion by Hurley, second by Burgett, to adjourn. Carried unanimously.

Public Comment:

bulletMaris Underwood read a letter regarding the negative attitudes of some of the residents of Columbia Township.
bulletBob Drenkhahn-Stated that it is illegal to add to the agenda in a special meeting.
bulletMary Burgett- Anything can be added to the agenda as long as all board members are present.
bulletGene Farley-He found out about the Public Safety Millage on Monday.
bulletLynne Farley-The board should research before making decisions.
bulletFrank Grubisich-He came to talk to Dale about things before they were brought up in a meeting.
bulletRay Arado-Supports Maris Underwood’s letter and the Public Safety Millage.
bulletBob Drenkhahn-The township does not need the extra millage for police.
