The Regular Meeting of the Columbia Township Board was called to order by Supervisor Bradford. Present were Bradford, Burgett, Fogarty, Hurley, and Harrington. In attendance were 25 citizens.

Guest Speaker: Julie Pioch-MSU-Explained briefly about Farmland Preservation.

Supervisor: Coloma Ambulance will be presenting a proposal to the board for consideration. The Michigan Nature Center and Columbia Township have applied for a matching funds grant for the clean up of an area in Columbia Township where the Heron’s nest.

Sheriff: 56 complaints received in February: 3 accidents, 10 animal control, 1 assault, 5 be on the look out, 1 breaking & entering, 4 delinquent minor, 1 fraudulent activity, 16 general assistance, 1 harassing/nuisance, 2 invasion of privacy, 1 larceny, 1 MDOP, 1 meth lab, 1 stolen vehicle, 4 suspicious situation, 4 traffic violations/

State Police: No Report.

County Commissioner: No Report.

Fire Chief: 2 calls received in February: 1 structure assist to Bangor and 1 c/o detector activation (malfunction) . Average response time was 9.5 minutes. A structure fire training burn was held at CR 388 and 46th street.

Planning Commission: No Report.

Neighborhood Watch: Next meeting-April 7, 2005-7:00 pm.

Book Station: Old books are being donated to South Haven for the book sale.

Hospital: A feasibility study was obtained for the rehab of the old Village Market Building across the street from the hospital.

South Haven Senior Services: No Report.

Recreation/Cemetery: The jail work crew has been cleaning up brush at the 40 acre site on Silver Lake Road.

Zoning Administrator: 8 Zoning Compliances issued in February: 3 modulars, 1 addition, 1 pole building, 1 storage building, 2 porches.

Public Comment: Linda Miller has problems with the Planning & Zoning Board-she thinks they lack the knowledge to run meetings, how to look at zoning, and how to enforce zoning.
