RESOLUTION 2005-10
INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT
WHEREAS, Act 198 of the Michigan Public Acts of 1974, as amended, provides for the establishment of an Industrial Development District in local governmental units and also provides within such districts exemption of certain taxes as an incentive to industries to renovate existing and build new facilities in the Township; and
WHEREAS, the Township Board desires to encourage the investment of capital expenditures which will result in the retention of existing employment and encourage the creation of new employment generating opportunities; and
WHEREAS, STOKES BLUEBERRY FARMS, its agents and assigns, plans to build a new facility in Columbia Township; and
WHEREAS, STOKES BLUEBERRY FARMS, has expressed their desire that the Township of Columbia establish the Industrial Development District on the property described as:

WHEREAS, STOKES BLUEBERRY FARMS, in conformity with Act 198, is preparing to submit applications providing all information and requirements necessary for the granting of an Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate by the Township of Columbia, County of Van Buren, State of Michigan, and
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Township Board on March 5, 2005, providing the opportunity for all citizens or taxpayers of the Township of Columbia to be heard;
THEREFORE, Columbia Township hereby establishes those lands, as described above, as an Industrial Development District.
The foregoing resolution offered by Board Member Burgett and supported by Board Member Hurley.
