WHEREAS, When the Grand Junction (New) Cemetery was first opened, trees were planted by residents in various locations.

WHEREAS, over the years these trees have been nurtured and cared for.

WHEREAS, these sites cannot be used for burials without causing harm to the trees

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, Columbia Township will keep the lots, with existing trees, in their possession never to be sold. Copies of the deed for these sites will be given to adjoining site holders. No new trees may be planted without permission from the Township Board.

The foregoing resolution offered by Board Member Burgett and supported by Board Member Hurley.

Upon roll call vote, the following voted.  Beckwith aye; Burgett aye; Fogarty aye; Harrington aye; Hurley aye .

The Supervisor declared the resolution adopted.
