The Regular Meeting of the Columbia Township Board was called to order by Supervisor Beckwith. Present were Beckwith, Burgett, Fogarty, and Harrington, Hurley absent. In attendance were 23 citizens.

Motion by Burgett, seconded by Fogarty, to approve the Consent Agenda. Carried.

Public Comment: The Fire Department did a wonderful job putting out the fire on Oak Street.

Sheriff: Sheriff: 67 complaints received in January: 3 breaking & entering, 5 assault, 2 stolen vehicles, 4 vehicle inspections, 7 accidents, 4 larceny, 4 obstructing justice, 19 general assists, 5 alarm activation, 1 abandoned vehicle, 1 hit & run, 1 harassing/nuisance, 3 invasion of privacy, 1 conservation, 1 MDOP, 1 fraudulent intent , 8 public peace, 4 suspicious situation, 1 traffic violation.
State Police: No Report
County Commissioner: No Report
Fire Chief: 5 calls, including 1 illegal burn, 1 gas leak, 1 CO2 detector activation, 1 personal injury, and 1 smoke. Average response time for January was 4.4 minutes. A pancake breakfast is scheduled for July 5, 2003. Fire extinguisher checks will be held at the Columbia Township Fire Station on the third Monday of every month.
Planning Commission: One Special Use Permit for a convalescent home is being considered. The Planning Commission is working on revising the Zoning Ordinance.
Neighborhood Watch: Next meeting-March 6, 2003, at the Columbia Township Fire Station-7:30 pm.
Book Station: No Report
Hospital: Heart to Heart screening was held this month.
Recreation/Cemetery: No Report.
Zoning Administrator: Permits issued in January: 2 new homes, 3 additions/repair, 2 pole buildings.
Blight Administrator: 3 Blight complaints received in January, 1 has been resolved.

Public Comment: Discussion about 90 day temporary camper permits.
Discussion about the property at the end of Oak Street, between Silver Lake Road and Silver Lake.
Motion by Beckwith, seconded by Burgett, that Columbia Township will continue taking no action on the property located at the end of Oak Street, between Silver Lake Road and Silver Lake, which includes not following through on the motion of September 20, 2002, because this is a private matter between property owners. Carried.
Notices: 1) The last day to pay taxes in Columbia Township is February 28, 2003.
