The Regular Meeting of the Columbia Township Board was called to order by Supervisor Beckwith. Present were Beckwith, Burgett, Fogarty, Hurley, and Harrington. In attendance were 30 citizens.

Consent Agenda: Regular Meeting Minutes-May 21, 2002; Special Meeting Minutes-May 30, 2002; June 12, 2002; bills through June 17, 2002; Treasurer’s Report. Motion by Burgett, seconded by Hurley, to approve the Consent Agenda. Carried unanimously.

Clerk's Report: Bills paid after the Consent Agenda

Motion by Burgett, seconded by Fogarty, to approve the bills paid after the Consent Agenda. Carried unanimously.

Public Comment: None

Additions/Corrections: Motion by Burgett, seconded by Fogarty, to add the Senior Services Resolution to the agenda. Carried unanimously.

Guest Speaker: Joe Miko (Draft Funnel Ordinance)

Supervisor: Ambulance average response time for May, 8.4 minutes.

Sheriff: 91 complaints received in May: 4 burglaries, 7 assault, 3 theft, and other suspicious calls.

State Police: 60 complaints received in Mayl, 3 assault, 7 larceny, 1 theft, 7 breaking and entering, and other suspicious activity.

County Commissioner: No Report.

Fire Chief: 9 calls in May, including 1 structure, and 1 trailer. A pancake breakfast will be held July 6th, sponsored jointly by the Columbia Township Fire Department and Neighborhood Watch. $4 for adults and $2 for kids. Thanks to Jim Bowie for the donation of a hose drying rack.

Planning Commission: July 2, 2002, at 6:00 PM, the Public Hearing on the changes to the Zoning Map will be held.

Neighborhood Watch: Next meeting-July 11, 2002-7:30 pm. Neighborhood Watch now has 5 patrols.

Book Station: The Book Station opened on April 24th in the Grand Junction Church. Story hour will be held 10 am on Wednesday’s and Saturday’s. A bake/book sale will be held on June 29 from 10-3pm. The Book Station needs volunteers and recipes for their recipe book.

Hospital: The Auxiliary awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Maria Cardoso, Amber Leslie, and Kelaine Martin. Renovation on of the second floor inpatient areas, has begun, at the hospital

Recreation/Cemetery: The confusion over the property lines of the Thompson Cemetery has been cleared up.

Grant Writing: No Report

Zoning Administrator: Issued in May-21 Building Compliances, 7 Electrical Permits, and 4 Mechanical Permits.

Blight Administrator: 7 Blight complaints in May, 4 have been resolved.

New Business:

Motion by Burgett, seconded by Hurley, to approve purchase of 4 new pagers and 2 used 2 way radios, for the Fire Department, at a cost of $2,151. Carried unanimously.

Motion by Burgett, seconded by Fogarty, to approve the Senior Services Resolution. Roll call vote, Beckwith aye, Burgett aye, Fogarty aye, Hurley aye, Harrington aye. Carried unanimously.

Notices: 1) Fire Department and Neighborhood Watch, Pancake Breakfast at the Township Hall, July 6, 2002.

2) Hazardous Waste Collection-June 22, 2002 from 9-1 PM in the Village of Decatur.

3) Public Hearing on Zoning Map Changes-July 2, 2002-6:00 PM at the Township Hall.
