The Regular Meeting of the Columbia Township Board was called to order by Supervisor Beckwith. Present were Beckwith, Burgett, Fogarty, Harrington, and Hurley. In attendance were 22 individuals.

Treasurer's Report:

Consent Agenda: Regular Meeting Minutes-November 20, 2001; Special Meeting Minutes-December 5, 2001, December 13, 2001; bills through December 17, 2001; Treasurer’s Report. Motion by Burgett, seconded by Hurley, to approve the Consent Agenda. Carried unanimously.

Clerk's Report: Bills paid after Consent Agenda

    Farley Gruber Station Supplies $77.30

    Motion by Burgett, seconded by Fogarty, to approve the bills paid after the Consent Agenda. Carried         unanimously.

Public Comment:

Fire rates will not go down in this Township.

Additions/Corrections: None

Supervisor: No Report.

Sheriff: No Report.

State Police: No Report.

County Commissioner: The 2002 Budget has been approved with an increase of 3.7%. The new addition at the Court House is up and running.

Fire Chief: 2 calls in November. Make sure to use your headlights if it is cloudy or raining.

Planning Commission: The revised Master Plan and the Recreation Plan have been given to the Board.

The Supervisor thanked the Planning Commission for all the work they have done on the Plans.

Neighborhood Watch: Suspicious activity is down in the Township.

Book Station: No Report.

Hospital: Dr. Penny Walker has joined the hospital’s Emergency Department Medical Staff.

Recreation: No Report.

Grant Writing: No Report.

Zoning Administrator: 13 Zoning Compliances in November.

Blight Administrator: 8 violation notices sent out in November.

Correspondence: None

Old Business: Mary Lou MacDonald/Friend Property-by Board consensus, no action at this time.

New Business: 1-Motion by Burgett, seconded by Hurley, to hire Phyllis Sykora as part time secretary during tax season. Carried unanimously.
2-Motion by Beckwith, seconded by Hurley, to authorize Harrington to ok up to $6000 for the 18th Av. ditch repair. Carried unanimously.
3-Motion by Beckwith, seconded by Fogarty, to approve Mary Burgett as bookkeeper. Carried unanimously.
4-Motion by Hurley, seconded by Burgett, to hire Lonny Johnson to add gravel and grade the hall parking lot. Carried unanimously.

Notices: The Township Hall will be closed December 24 & 25, and December 31, & January 1, 2002

Public Comment: 56th St. down by CR 384 is very dangerous, even after the County graded the road.
