A Special Meeting of Columbia Township Board was called to order by Supervisor Beckwith. Present were Beckwith, May, and Harrington. Speicher and Landers were absent.

In the absence of the Clerk, May was appointed to record the minutes of the meeting.

Agenda: Since some Board members were absent, the agenda could not be amended. However, the order of business was adjusted to accommodate members of the public.

Book Station: The committee reported on progress toward demolishing the Kelly building and refurbishing the Legion building. They currently have $1,354.86 in their treasury (see attached financial report) and have several fund-raisers arranged in the near future. They reported numerous offers for donations of labor, skills, and materials. They also have two proposals to demolish the Kelly building (lowest cost proposal is attached).

May moved to combine the Kelly building assessor’s parcel with the Legion building parcel to form a single parcel, to grant the Book Station Committee use of said parcel including demolition of the Kelly building and refurbishing the Legion building. Seconded by Harrington. Passed unanimously.

Mower Trade-In: Harrington moved to accept Finnerman’s proposal to trade in the existing used mower for a new unit with a 54" deck for a cost of $850. Seconded by Beckwith. Passed unanimously.

Insurance Premium: Harrington moved to table approval to pay the insurance premium until the regular meeting on March 21, 2000 – a more detailed breakdown of costs is required. Seconded by May. Passed unanimously.

Budget Workshop: The Board discussed the fiscal year 2000/2001 proposed budget for the General, Road, Ambulance, Liquor, Hospital, and Housing Rehabilitation Funds.
