Supervisor Beckwith called the Special Meeting of Columbia Township Board to order at 7:00 p.m. Present Beckwith, Speicher, Harrington and Landers. May absent.

NEW BUSNESS:

Board discussed Road Work for 1999 – 2000

May arrive at 7:20.

Attorney Boardman discussed and answered board and public questions on issues related to fire protection.

  1. Beckwith moved to obtain a grass fire unit, seconded by May. Carried unanimously.
  2. Beckwith moved to put a well in Grand Junction capable to fill a fire truck, seconded by Speicher. Carried unanimously.
  3. Beckwith moved to purchase property and building in Southern part of township for housing fire protection equipment, seconded by Speicher. Roll call vote Beckwith "aye", Speicher "aye", May "aye", Harrington "aye" and Landers "nay".
  4. Approved Resolution 9913 to authorize Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency to write a partial discharge of lien to the parcel resulting from a land split. Roll call vote Beckwith "aye", Speicher "aye", May "aye", Harrington "aye" and Landers "aye".
  5. May moved to have Township Attorney prepare Quit Claim Deed on lot in Grand Junction, authorizing the Clerk or Supervisor to exercise the Deed, seconded by Beckwith. Carried unanimously.
  6. May moved to have title search on tax reverted property in Grand Junction, seconded by Beckwith. Carried unanimously.
  7. Approved Resolution 9914 to authorize Columbia Township Treasurer to withhold payment from the revolving tax fund reimbursement moneys for the Bangor Fire Tax from BBACG. Roll call vote Beckwith "aye", Speicher "aye", May "aye", Harrington "aye" and Landers "aye".
  8. May moved to void Ikon’s April payment for $805.62 and issue new payment of $450.00, seconded by Speicher. Carried unanimously.
  9. Discussion: Ikon reduced invoice for use of copier.

  10. Harrington moved to approve $102,518.00 in Road Work for 1999 – 2000, seconded by Landers. Carried unanimously.
