The regular meeting of the Columbia Township Board was called to order by Burgett. Present were Grahek, May, Landers, and Harrington. 41 people also attended.
Minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved with a motion by Landers, seconded by Harrington. Carried by 4 votes of those who had been present. Minutes of a special meeting were also read and approved with a motion by Harrington, seconded by Grahek. Carried by 4 votes of those who had been present.
Treasurer's Report was read by May and was approved as follows:

A CD with a value of $27,363.99 matured. $10,000.00 was used to purchase a new CD, and the balance was transferred to an existing account. Motion by Grahek seconded by Burgett, carried unanimously.
Clerk's Report of monthly bills was read and approved as follows:
General Fund: $11,421.13.
Motion by Landers, seconded by May. Carried unanimously.
A new PA system for the Twp Hall was discussed and 3 estimates were presented. Harrington moved to table the matter for a month pending more information. Seconded by Grahek, carried unanimously.
Grahek moved to authorize Burgett to hire clerical help for the Board of Review. Seconded by Burgett, carried unanimously.
Hal Manning announced the proposed dates and times for the Board of Review: Mar 9 from 9:00 to noon and 1:00 to 4:00; Mar 11 and 12 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Grahek moved to approve, seconded by Harrington, carried unanimously.
Grahek announced that he would probably be resigning in the next couple of months because of family health problems, and asked that anyone interested in the Clerk job contact him.
Zoning Administrator announced that the Township will be using a new triplicate Stop Work Order form.
Fire Board Rep. Dennis Mackinder announced that there would be a meeting on Feb. 23 at the Bangor Fire Hall to decide on ambulance service for the district.
Hospital Rep. Jan Conway announced that the hospital is trying to set up a school for general practitioners, and that all doctors would participate.
Bim Willow of the Columbia Township Beautification Committee announced a meeting on March 16 to get input from people about improving the Grand Jct. area. Burgett said he would check to see who is responsible for sidewalk and curb maintenance.
Grahek moved to adjourn, seconded by Burgett, carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 8:56 PM.
