The regular meeting of the Columbia Township Board was called to order by Burgett. Present were Grahek, May, Landers, and Harrington. 31 people also attended.

Minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved with a motion by Landers, seconded by Harrington. Carried unanimously.

Treasurer's Report was read by May and was approved as follows:

General Fund

$248,132.43

Road Fund

$977.95

Tax Fund

$ 1,264.73

Trust & Agency

$300.00

Ambulance Fund

$ 31,624.00

   

A CD with a value of $21,128.03 matured and was transferred to the General Fund. Motion by Grahek seconded by Burgett, carried unanimously.

Clerk's Report of monthly expenditures and transfers was read and approved as follows:

General Fund: $30,934.73 Road Fund: $5,421.25.

Motion by Grahek seconded by Burgett, carried unanimously.

Dep. Scott Batten announced that a large amount of stolen goods from B&E's had been recovered. He suggested that if people have had something stolen, they might check to see if it's among the recovered property.

Julie Pioch of MSU Extension described the Household Hazardous Waste Program and asked the Township to participate. Whereupon a motion was made by Harrington to participate for up to $500.00.

Seconded by Burgett, carried unanimously.

Grahek introduced a resolution to apply to purchase land from the State for the next Lot Sales and moved that it be adopted. Seconded by Burgett, carried unanimously.

Grahek introduced a Budget Amendment Resolution to accommodate Land Division revenues and expenditures, and a Computer Service expenditure, and moved that it be adopted. Seconded by May, carried unanimously.

Zoning Administrator Estavillo announced that August was a slow month for construction.

There was a lengthy discussion between BBACG Rep. Goss and a number of people who voiced their dissatisfaction with ambulance and fire service. Topics included dissatisfaction that the Grand Jct. station is not being used more and the lack of communication between the Fire Board and the people.

Grahek moved to adjourn, seconded by Burgett. Adjourned at 9:46 PM.
