COLUMBIA TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Type of Meeting:

SPECIAL

Date of Meeting:

Friday, October 04, 1996

At 10:05 AM a special meeting of the Columbia Township Board was called to order by Supervisor Larry Burgett. Present were Grahek, May, and Harrington. Absent was Landers.

The Board discussed the fact that John Karpiel's certification had been revoked and that a new Electrical Inspector would have to be designated. They also discussed the fact that Richard Burroughs had been willing to fill in for Karpiel and that he would be willing to take the position. Grahek moved to designate Richard Burroughs as the temporary Electrical Inspector, pending conclusion of a contract agreement with him, at which time the designation would become finalized. In the meantime payment would be according to Burrough's fee schedule. Burgett seconded. Carried by unanimous roll call vote of those present.

Grahek pointed out that conditions for the termination of the contract with AGS were being looked into by the Twp. Attorney and that it might be a good idea to designate other inspectors and have them in place, pending the termination of the AGS contract. He then moved that Chuck Moore be designated as Building Inspector, Walt DeVisser as Mechanical Inspector, and Phyllis Centers as Plumbing Inspector, pending termination of the AGS agreement and completion of successful contract negotiations with these persons. Harrington seconded. Carried by unanimous roll call vote of those present.

The Board then discussed organization between the Zoning Administrator and the Electrical and Mobile Home Inspectors. May moved that the Zoning Administrator will set up a record keeping system for electrical permits and mobile home permits within 30 days. Seconded by Burgett. Carried by unanimous roll call vote of those present.

Grahek moved to adjourn. Seconded by Burgett. Meeting adjourned at 10:37 AM.
